HOW IT ALL BEGAN

Danielle proves that blacksmithing isn’t about muscle and brawn, but about finesse and control. She has also received recognition and awards from the Southern Ohio Forge and Anvil Quad State Round Up. Danielle was featured in the Girlfriends Mid-Ohio Valley Spring 2017 Magazine.

When Danielle was 11 years old her mom remarried and moved to Ohio. Being homeschooled Danielle found many opportunities to be in and around the blacksmith shop. At 12 years old her father gave her small tasks around the shop to test her skill and help develop her abilities. With each mastered skill and completed task, Danielle accepted more challenges. Soon she moved to a more permanent position and was given her own work space at a forge. Creating came easily to her and she leaned toward organic and free form forging.

Danielle and her father built the Nelsonville, Ohio Gateway across from Rocky Boots Headquarters with riveted columns.

Every step of the way Danielle has accepted and learned all of the aspects of this trade, all while developing her own style. In 2017 the family business was sold to Danielle knowing that she would preserve all that her father has accomplished and what this family business represents.
